The Motors

The Motors were another band that was more hard, fast, pub rock than punk or new wave, but they came along around the same time and were marketed similarly.

Their first album, ‘The Motors’, was just full of rockin’ out songs with Nick Garvey’s bully-boy vocals. They had a minor hit with ‘Dancing The Night Away’ (covered later by Cheap Trick) from it, but their second album had ‘Airport’ on it, which was a much larger hit for them.

I think this picture of Nick and Bram Tchaikovsky gettin' down is one of my better ‘action’ rock and roll photos…..
