Talking Heads

Talking Heads were another band who came from the punk scene but did not play punk music. It was eclectic, danceable, David Byrne music, and what a creative spirit he is, and was then.

I first saw them in San Francisco at the Boarding House club in 1977 but didn't do pictures there. Next time was the Old Waldorf in San Francisco in 1978 and after that, in 1979, they were at Zellerbach Auditorium in Berkeley. This was the 'Fear of Music' tour; that's still my favorite TH album and David was so much fun making all these animalistic noises and grunts along with the lyrics and vocal theatrics through most of the set.

The picture at the top of the page might be the only one where I remembered distinctly taking it and thinking 'That's gonna be a good one!'.
