Deep Purple
I first heard Deep Purple when ‘Hush’ would come through the windows of my high school classroom from the cafeteria jukebox.
When I got to college, in 1970, a guy in my dorm got ‘Deep Purple In Rock’, and that really did it, with Ian Gillan having joined the band and turned it into the monster it was.
I loved all the 70’s albums that had Ian Gillan, but when Coverdale and Hughes replaced Gillan and Glover, I lost interest. My photos are from this version, but I sure wish I had some of Ian. The support for this show was ELO, and I've got some photos of them from there, too.
