Nick Lowe
Nick Lowe was a figure on the British music scene since his pub-rock days with Brinsley Schwartz.
His first solo single was ‘And So It Goes’/‘Heart Of The City’, and what great songs they both are. He also got some radio play with 'Marie Provost', a novelty kind of song about a had-been Hollywood actress who died alone and was found partially eaten by her starving dachshund.
I lost interest not long after that, though he’s had a great solo career ever since.
I took these in London, when Nick was one of the performers on the Stiff Records Tour at the Lyceum in 1977.
