Mahavishnu Orchestra
The first time I'd heard of John McLaughlin and/or Mahavishnu Orchestra was when some jazz guys in my college dorm, the same ones who turned me on to Miles Davis' 'Bitches Brew', played me 'Inner Mounting Flame'; that and the followup, 'Birds of Fire' were favorites of mine for awhile.
