Ian Dury

Ian Dury did very almost English-music hall types of songs, but with a contemporary edge. His debut album 'New Boots and Panties' was a classic, and contained the anthem for its times, 'Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll'..... The only time I saw him and his fine band the Blockheads perform was at this show at the Old Waldorf, where he opened for Lou Reed, who I also photographed.
