Gang of Four

Gang of Four’s classic first album, ‘Entertainment’, came out in 1979 and ushered in the age of angular, post-punk music. The late Andy Gill came up with a new approach to guitar playing which remained influential to this day. 

At this show, Gang of Four opened for Buzzcocks at the Geary Temple in San Francisco. The living members of the band remember that show right through to today. In their box set that came out in 2021, they included a hardback book, and there is a chapter on that particular show, and 4 of my photographs found their way into the book….
